Guidance on Sizing & Fit

We offer our garments in two lengths, referring specifically to the shirt length. No other aspect of the shirt is affected by its length, which can be viewed on our size chart.

Short: Will fall above the hips of most people.

Long: Will fall below the hips of most people.

Please use the size guide on each product page. We provide flat measurements so that you can compare with your favourite garments at home. Note that even our t-shirts may have different size guides between restocks, so it's best to check for each item before ordering.

While we don't operate retail storefronts, we're proud to share that Octopied Mind's central warehouse is in the heart of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Our co-founders, Jill & Sarah, are originally from the scenic East Coast of Canada, and they've planted their roots in both Nova Scotia (Jill) and Quebec (Sarah).

We believe in transparency and the right of our cult members to know the true costs behind our products. Here’s a simple breakdown of our costs and markups (currency is in CAD).

  • Shipping: $3-$6 per garment (from factory to warehouse).
  • Carbon Footprint Neutralization: $0.05 per order.
  • Screen-Printing: $4-$11 per garment.
  • Labour: $20-$44/hour.
  • Materials: $10-$60 per garment.
  • Packing Supplies: $1-$5 per order.
  • Photography & Models: $1,500 - $3,000/month.
  • Graphic Design: 30 - 80 hours per illustration.
  • Marketing: $15,000 - $25,000/month.
  • Warehouse Operations: $10,000 - $40,000/month.

Markup Explanation:
Our profit margins are modest and calculated as follows: (Retail Price - Product Cost) / Retail Price, typically resulting in profit margins between 50% - 60%. Unlike traditional retailers who mark up products 5–6x, we only mark up 2–3x.

Our swimwear collection is exclusively made-to-order and ships from a different warehouse than our main shop items. This separation allows us to better manage customer expectations regarding product processing times and delivery. By operating in this manner, we ensure that each swimwear piece is crafted with care and attention to detail, resulting in a high-quality product tailored to your specifications.

Questions about Ordering & Payments

Please wait for 24 hours after the 'delivered' status before assuming that the delivery is lost. Sometimes the delivery status is displayed prematurely. If the package does not arrive by the end of the next day, please send an email to to initiate an investigation.

Orders are processed same day and shipped within 1-2 business days. You will receive confirmation once your order has shipped with tracking information and other order details.

Processing and shipping times may be delayed due to holiday influx, Covid-19 outbreaks and natural disasters.

Tracking Number: Tracking information can be found in the email / text that is triggered when we print your shipping label. All packages include insurance in case anything happens between us and you.

Delays: Please keep in mind that Covid-19, Natural Disasters and any holiday influx may delay your order delivery date.

If your order has not yet shipped, we may be able to make the following changes:

If you haven't received an order confirmation email, it is likely the result of one of three things:

1. Your order was was not processed correctly.

2. You have entered an incorrect email address with your order.

3. The email went to your spam folder.

Sezzle is currently only available to customers in Canada (where our business is technically located). Sezzle provides you with a payment option where you can buy now, and pay later. Sezzle pays Octopied Mind for your order immediately which means we can ship your order according to our normal processing time.

Inquiries about Shipping & Returns

No, we do not offer local pick-up. Our inventory is safely stored in a warehouse in Montreal, QC. This warehouse does not allow customer traffic.

Orders above $125.00 CAD (before discounts + taxes) are eligible for free shipping within Canada, USA & UK.

We do not offer exchanges.

In order to be eligible for a return, the merchandise must be unworn and in its original condition including original tags and barcode/SKU stickers on packaging for easy identification.

We do carefully inspect all items, so please be extra careful when trying on items (i.e. remove jewelry, make-up and do not apply perfume).

If the item(s) is not in its original condition (I.e. pet hair, makeup stains, smoke or food odour, visibly worn, etc.) you will be responsible for loss in value, and not eligible for a refund. The items will be shipped back to you at your cost, or donated upon request.

*Graveyard (defected) items are non-refundable.

* Final Sale items are non-refundable.

*Customers are responsible for the return shipping label fee.

We do not offer exchanges due to the rapid depletion of our inventory, with designs often selling out on the same day. This makes it complex to guarantee the same product's availability in a different size.

If you used a special discount code on your initial order and wish to apply it to a new order after processing a return, please get in touch with us at, and we will assist you accordingly.

As a small business, we only accept returns for items that we can re-sell. This is why we inspect all returns.

Items will be rejected for the presence of pet/human hair, stains from deodorant or make-up, smell or sign of wear.

In order for an item to be sellable, it must be safe for the next person in line. A product with pet hair, deoderant or presence of smoke for example could be harmful to folks with allergies and other sensitivies.

Items cannot be washed (by us or by you) - They must be in their original condition in order to be re-sold.

We recommend trying things on without deoderant or make-up and away from any pets / smoke before you decide if its the right fit for you.

Please be aware that items purchased during a final sale cannot be returned.

Additionally, temporary mark-downs or special promotions, like holiday events, are limited-time offers, and their discounts won't apply beyond their specified duration. Should you seek a refund or store credit, it will correspond to the amount of your original purchase.

Please note that we do not accept returns or exchanges for swimwear items.This policy is in place to ensure the hygiene and integrity of our products, especially considering the nature of swimwear garments. We encourage you to review all product details, including sizing charts, before making your purchase.
