Do you ever feel so exhausted you want to burn your life to the ground, escape the grind & venture into the forest for the perfect plot of land to build an intentional community on? Well if that’s not what we’re doing here… then I’m confused 😂JK. This isn’t a real cult (yet).
Jill woke up with an obsession for bees the other day & hasn’t stopped bugging me about a bee logo since. We knew that bees were important but we didn’t take the time to learn WHY until now.
Worldwide, bee populations are at an alarming decline. The use of pesticides, climate change, loss of habitat & monoculture farming are said to be the biggest culprits. The fear is that since bees play such a HUGE role in our ecosystem (~70% of our food source relies on pollination) once they die it will likely end most life (humans included).
Learning about how the weight of the world rests on their hard-working, brilliant little shoulders 🐝 reminds us of how often we can feel that way too. With so much pressure to “be your best self” we forget the role that community plays in our overall well bee-ing.
Caring for yourself doesn’t end with you. It STARTS with you & expands to touch just about everything in existence. Your friends, local businesses, the people you don’t like & the people you do. We are all connected.
Covid has redefined what it means to connect. For some people, virtual spaces created a new type of connection while for others the legal/social hurdles have only encouraged deeper anxiety & isolation. As the pandemic wears on, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, substance abuse & suicide have increased across the globe.
