Cannabis does a range of things for a variety of people. It can be healing, promote creativity, increase energy, help you sleep, decrease anxiety and more. And while this medicine grows all over the world, over 90% of the world's countries still deem cannabis illegal for recreational and/or medicinal use today.

Despite countries opening up their third eye to the incredible benefits of legalization, we must acknowledge the dark history that cannabis prohibition has had on creating policies and practices that drive systemic racial injustice. While white males dominate the licensed cannabis sales industry for the most part, building apple-like stores all over the country, there are still millions of people, mostly black, indigenous and people of colour, behind bars for selling the same green.

Cannabis was never meant to be a white man's weapon. In fact, dating back to the 3rd millennium BC, goddesses and plants were both considered healers. Up until 1000 BC women practiced healing without restrictions and until more recent history, women were not even allowed to attend medical school and women plant healers were hunted as witches.

So to all of the marginalized growers, dealers, healers, artists, activists, entrepreneurs, and political leaders (no matter how they identify or what body parts they have) who are working to de-stigmatize and decolonize cannabis - we stand behind you. You have always been and will always be a true ganja goddess.

Disclaimer: We wholeheartedly recognize that to be a woman you do not need a uterus. We also recognize that there are many 2SLGBTQ+ and other marginalized groups of people who do not identify as women who are working to de-stigmatize and decolonize cannabis can absolutely self-identify as a Ganja Deity or otherwise.

meet jill & sarah
founders of om

Jill Davis (right) and Sarah Vezina (left) are two best friends from small town Dalhousie, New Brunswick. They grew up in the same neighbourhood, took the same bus, had the same babysitter and even rode on the same bike (because Sarah couldn't afford her own). Their inseparability and toxic dependency lasted through adulthood where they quit their corporate jobs to work with each other instead. Given that no one can tell them apart, it's clear that Octopied Mind has been founded on the melting and merging of their brain power, creativity and essence - All of which are used to produce the strange and vulnerable graphic art you see today.

raw edge cropping
custom lengths

A raw-edge crop method is done with a rotary tool. This tool makes a clean cut and allows the fabric to roll up slightly over time. We do not fold over the material and sew it once it has been cut to prevent rolling unless otherwise stated. We also do not recommend you cut your own shirts at home (especially with scissors) unless we've given you proper guidance on how to do so.
